Richard Clements is an artist who studies phenomenology, the occult, structures of consciousness, and linguistic philosophy. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the School of Visual Arts, teaching in Sculpture. After completing his BFA (sculpture) at The Alberta College of Art and Design in 2005 he went on to study Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, acquiring his MFA in 2007. Since then, his work has been supported by the Canada Council of the Arts and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and he has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Richard’s creative process is defined by a hermeneutic reciprocity between research, material investigation, and personal reflection operating within the expanded tenants of Hermetic Principle. His research interests include the history of games, Harry Houdini, Arthurian myth, and Brancusi.
